I find myself shopping for airline tickets on an almost weekly basis. It seems like I’m always going somewhere and it’s tips like these that have made it affordable. “It pays to know when, and when not, to buy tickets. Airlines make money by anticipating our buying habits. It’s a complicated process, but you can save money if you know when to buy. Travel agencies can also help you find cheap tickets when flying by using insider secrets to your advantage.” Angie’s List.
I found this cheat sheet several years ago and continue to find it relevant. In addition to the cheat sheet, there are lots of great apps and websites out there to book your flight. I generally book my flights using KAYAK. It’s user friendly and I’ve found some great deals using it including a $400 roundtrip ticket from LA to Paris, one week in advance. Did I mention that included all taxes and fees?
